The “Alter Platz” is one of the 2 big town squares, with many small stores or cafes along both side of it. Cars aren’t allowed to drive there, making it a the perfect place for a shopping stroll. Buildings all around block out the traffic noise, making it a much more quite place than the nearby “Neuer Platz”. The large pillar you see is a memorial for the victims the black plague.
