Unzmarkt started in 1250 as a craftsman-settlement, but soon became a town in 1260, and was first mentioned in documents in 1324 as “Hunczmarkt”. In 1968, Unzmarkt merged with Frauenburg to become Unzmarkt-Frauenburg.
