The Beamish Museum is an open air museum in the County Durham. The museum tries to show the life was a typical northern town in the last 2 centuries, mostly specific to 1913, but some parts of the museum are based as early as 1825. The town is a replica of a typical early 19 century market street in the northeast. Buildings from all over the region were moved in here, like a hardware store, a pub and many different private homes. Costumed interpreters live and work in those buildings to give visitors an idea about the life in those times.
